“Ali's paintings brought colour and vibrancy into the cathedral during a summer when there wasn't much of either outside! With an emphasis on pinks and reds they did seem like the light of God shining in the darkness. Visitors and congregation both valued abstract art being made accessible by the accompanying titles and explanations. Ali's paintings really do bring self and God alive together in Art; the optimistic colours and shapes showing how God brings hope even in the worst human circumstances.”
